Our trip is nearly at an end and we are Bangkok bound. There is only 1 small little problem and that is the overbooking on all flights, trains and buses. The only option is to sit on a 16 hour bus trip to Bangkok which none of us want to do. The lady at Mookies Campsite will try to get us tickets to Bangkok on the over night sleeper train for tomorrow but there are no promises. This is less important for Ben and myself because our flight sare the 8th and not for ages but Olga must fly on the 4th.
There are a few flights in a few days time from another airport other than Trang but they cost a fortune and would still need to get to the airport. I am sure it will all work out and the lady at Mookies is great at fixing everything so it should be cool.
The weather took a turn for the worst on New Years Day at 2am and started to rain, rain and rain. It was nearly impossible to get out of bed on New Years Day so I spent it thinking about 2012 and planning. The the rest of yesterday was a spent the only way it could be, eating and drinking and watchin buckets of rain fall down. The 3 large dinners I had helped. I didn't start on the changs straight away because we are diving today. At 7pm the monsoon rains were still down and the clouds were terrible all day. The cost to dive here is not cheap so we decided not to go today. I was very happy with this decision because I thought the guy who ran the dive shop was a bit of an arse and I did not want to end up being guided by him. They were quite upset at us but who cares. Anyway I woke up today and the weather is ace again, so the dive would have been fine. However, I still would not want to dive with this idiot so I am happy having a relaxing day and planning my new years resolutions.
I think we all know 2012 is going to be eventful for me and I want to thank you for the support over the last few months. I have made decisions based upon these few months and have 2 game plans. I still want plan A to happen more that anything but I am very excited about plan B.
1. Run a good marathon in Paris. I am aware that starting my training as a lardy traveller is not ideal so I am not after breaking records but just enjoyment.
2. Shift the 10kilos I have put on since feb 2011. I am not sure where they camefrom [beer, travelling and junk food]
3. Sort out june 2012 to infinity.
On reflection, this trip has made me realise i am ready to be a grown up [of sorts], I know I will fall off the grown up wagon from time to time and find myself hungover and covered in kebabs but I know that I am ready for some of the other stuff also. I guess I have been an 18 year old for 13 years longer than most and I have loved every minute of it and would not change it for the world. I still think I will be silly every Tuesday night and on special occasion, paydays, fridays, birthdays and celebrations but I think owning some cushions might also be nice. Here is to getting out of the BedSqaut and living in a nice house 7 days a week.
Finally, bitten to death by mosquitos. My body has double in size due to all the bites being infected but never mind. It beats doing maths everyday
